The “Internet of things” (IoT) is becoming an increasingly growing topic; this is the concept that not only has the potential to impact how we live but also how we work. But what exactly is “IoT”? To answer this, On 12th July 2014, Saturday GVPCSAA organized expert lecture on “Internet of things” by expert Dr. Pankesh Patel, who answered this question effectively and precisely. Attendees got in depth knowledge of various aspects like software engineering, middleware, model-driven engineering, and domain specific languages in the Internet of Things domain. Dr. Pankesh Patel also discussed various software engineering techniques like separation of concerns, abstractions to hide software complexity and end-to-end system integration. The lecture was very useful and informative for all the faculty members, students and former students.

Brief introduction about Expert: Dr. Pankesh Patel is a faculty member of IICT –Ahmedabad University, He has done doctorate on the subject of “Enabling High-Level Application Development for the Internet of Things” from University of Paris VI (UPMC).
